My journey started in childhood, with an appreciation for unique and unusual artwork and vintage jewelry. After purchasing a very ethnic brass necklace from a thrift store, I started experimenting and making earrings for myself. Ultimately, I ended up making them for friends and decided to start creating on my own.
I have an artistic background as both of my parents sketch and paint, so I used that innate talent to create my own designs. My work consists of vintage/repurposed, and original, wearable art, mixing different mediums and metals with semi-precious stones & beads. Many of the beads I use are over 20 years old, purchased at various gem shows or auctions.
My favorite to work with are freshwater pearls, natural amber, amethyst, coral, turquoise, labradorite, moonstone, natural emerald, citrine, druzy and more. The sterling pieces/pendants I have collected through the years are vintage and antique, each unique and one of a kind.
I use lobster clasps on some of my mixed-metal pieces, with the oversized clasps becoming part of the piece itself.
